Watch as we Wait
In others' eyes, Americans are not always known for their patience. Perhaps one of the lessons we could learn from this turbulent election is empathy for the world. Waiting for days, weeks, and even months for credible election results is common in many countries. As anticipated, the Ivorian presidential election did not finish well. Although a winner emerged, opposition parties refused to acknowledge his legitimacy after encouraging their supporters to boycott the election. Violence and a sense of unease prevail while ordinary Ivorian citizens work, watch, and wait for political wrangling to cease. Most Ivorians want just enough peace to resume their everyday lives.
Work as we Watch
For us this week, we rejoiced to freely travel back to Tennessee, have a dental implant procedure, start physical therapy, and see hospitals, schools, and businesses open despite the political maneuvering in the United States. 
Verlin also helped connect E., the coordinator of an Ivorian CHE network, with Christian Connections for International Health (CCIH) through the networking of our mission's program director, Dr. Laura Smelter. The linked video testimony prepared by two Ivorian CHE trainers will be shared in a CCIH forum on November 10. Despite short notice and difficult political circumstances, they succeeded in reporting about an initiative they started with Ivorian CHE workers during COVID. We hope this video report gives you a great reason to rejoice! Verlin learned some YouTube tools to edit the video report so it can be watched with closed captioning in English or French. This two-minute report from one of the CHE champions that we encourage tells about eight-hundred families touched out of whom Jesus saved one-hundred and forty-five persons during the last few months.

- 🙏 Praise the Lord that He is not caught off guard by the political wrangling here or in Cote d'Ivoire! May each of us, through prayer, recognize and fulfill our role in shaping the future of our nation(s). Ask for a peaceful resolution for the Ivorian elections.
- 🙏 Two co-laboring missionaries at Christian Health Service Corps, and one MK, recently tested positive with COVID-19. The results changed their travel and some ministry plans. Pray that they speedily recover while asking the Lord to send laborers to the remote areas of the world where adequate medical treatment is not readily available.
