CHSC LINK: Among Us
PDF Version: AWA Weekly 200815.PDFThe Frauds Abound
They walk among us, not wanting to be noticed yet fully committed to their goal. It was our sorrow to encounter one second-hand this week, one who will cost us over thirty hours of frustration. We are talking about a fraud, or team of frauds, who recently used Verlin’s identity to seek a U.S. Small Business Administration loan for $117,800. Thankfully the Identity Shield team of LegalShield reported this attempt at identity theft. After hours on the phone, filling out paperwork, and making a report to the sheriff’s office, among others, Verlin completed the first round of activities to protect our name and assets. Have you ever wondered how much good could be done if hackers and frauds invested that same level of know-how, time, and energy for some holy endeavor? The possible outcome boggles the mind. Through our prayers together, pray that Jesus wins over some of these souls.
The Faithful Astound
They walk among us, not wanting to be noticed yet fully committed to their goal. It has been our joy to meet many such people firsthand over the years. We are talking about faithful servants of Jesus whose lives resonate with love, obedience, and productivity.
Linked by his name and photo is a six-minute YouTube testimony completed with a Community Health Evangelism champion and trainer from Zambia, Lovemore Zulu. This brother is now home with the Lord, probably exchanging praises of Jesus with some we have been privileged to know and train. May the brief yet informal interview conducted by Terry Dalrymple (Coordinator of the Global CHE Network Service Team) with Lovemore encourage you. How many people do you know that turn down a government position with salary in order to freely share the Gospel? Or who would regularly walk 15 kilometers one direction to train CHE workers without pay? We seek those called like Lovemore in Cote d’Ivoire. We do not have to wonder at the outcome of this holy endeavor. The outcome boggles the mind and encourages us to pray, “Do it again, Lord!” Pray Jesus wins over more such souls through our joint, prayerful efforts.

Prayer and Praise
- We are grateful that the attempt to fraud using our personal information did not succeed. Pray that we do not miss any steps to protect our identities, so no other attempts occur.
- Thank the Lord with us for servants like Lovemore Zulu (click here to give to a memorial fund). Ask the Lord to continue consoling his earthly family. Praise Him for the many around the world who give up easier ways of life to serve the Christ. Pray that His hand of protection guides them. Ask the Lord to raise up new generations of faithful servants who do whatever it takes to share the transformation that Jesus alone does with individuals, families, communities, and nations.
- We were glad to learn this week that the university team is meeting again for CHE planning. Widespread rioting in Cote d’Ivoire broke out as the president decided to seek a third term.
