CHSC LINK: Say Yes, Step Out
Say Yes
Earlier in August our older son, Cason, wrote a blog post for his work with D6. In it, he recounted some of the faith-stretching events that led to him and Suzanne adopting our precious granddaughter, Chelsea. His testimony is encouraging. Not only does it record a significant event in our family’s life, but it also serves as a timely reminder about saying yes to God amid life’s vagaries. You may read the article in its entirety here online (PDF here).Step Out
Corbin, our younger son, called with some fantastic news in August, too. In just a couple of weeks at his new job, he was promoted to a Quality Management position. Also, on Friday, he finally received the keys to his month-long-awaited apartment in Alabama. So, this weekend, he moves some belongings from our Tennessee homestead to have a bed upon which to sleep!
After delays because of some health issues, Verlin began traveling to visit Community Health Evangelism (CHE) trainers. Certain coworkers in the Gospel ramp up with us for the Scientific Congress and the week-long university CHE training that follows that will bifurcate his travels. Also, a national association meeting of some Free Will Baptists (FWBs) happens next week, which one or both of us will partially attend to meet friends and complete CHE training plans. Following that, we will relocate to Abidjan for a month or so for training responsibilities. September is usually our most time-pressed month of the year. We count on your prayers.
Prayer & Praise
-
- π Thank the Lord with us for Chelsea’s presence and how she has blossomed in our son’s family. Pray for her as she began second grade this week, mainstreamed into a regular class. Ask the Father of all to help Corbin in transporting some of his belongings from Tennessee to Alabama.
-
- π Praise God for Verlin’s speedy recovery from an eye infection and Debbie’s overcoming two different ones with some blood pressure spikes.
-
- π The National Association of Ivorian FWB’s happens this upcoming week in Bouna. Pray for great fellowship and excellent decisions.
-
- π Continue to pray for upcoming travels and team preparation for the university-based events.
